This song is about my 2021 conflict, descent, and comeback, reaching the height of my selfishness as a high paid consultant and building up my own music company on the side, chasing the money and influence over a longtime call to youth & music ministry and it all crashing down when I lost my job and hit bottom, but with grace, leading to me refocusing on my faith, focus, and calling to witness through rap. The original album cover before I remade it is a picture of my refrigerator the day I made the beat and I was down to a carton with 2 eggs and 2 slices of bread (literally) in the entire fridge, having been unable to find work and running out of my savings. I literally wrote the song while hungry and after losing 20 pounds having to ration meals while I stretched out what little I had left after blowing through the money I was so arrogant about. 2021 was a hard check on my faith, pride and led me back to my faith in God, humility, calling, and purpose. This is my Ecclesiastes story, “Hunger for your holy reign, thought I wanted more but it’s more the same…”
